Max Maton
I'm an economist and researcher working in London.
I care a lot about progress, directed technological development and making the long-term future go well.
I've worked on the economics of AI, including modelling the effects on productivity and labour markets at the macroeconomic level within a global economic model.
I'm working on new projects related to building better communities of practice around progress and metascience, exploring how to push my economics of AI work further, and thinking about how we capture what makes judgement genuinely good which can support the eventual automation of science. I'm also thinking about robust verifiers for control and evals.
